Physical DescriptionA round black pedestal supports a silver football, which is positioned at an angle. A rectangular silver plaque is affixed to the front of the base. It displays rows of horizontal engraved text.
Historical NoteLawyer and former football player Meyer Morton presented this Chicago Alumni Award to an eighteen-year-old Gerald Ford at a banquet on May 12, 1932. Ford was the first center to receive the award since its inception in 1925. Now called the Meyer Morton Award, it was awarded each year to a University of Michigan football player who showed “the greatest development and most promise as a result of the annual spring practice.”Additional Details
