Historical NotePhiladelphia Mayor Frank L. Rizzo gifted this bowl to President Ford on July 4, 1976. Made by The Franklin Mint, it is a limited edition and is 1 of 750 made. The bowl is decorated with a frieze of the nation’s 200 year history, from the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the Bicentennial celebration.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
