Physical Description(a-j) A set of nine small clay lamps in various shapes and colors are supported on a semicircular base made of black metal.Historical NoteIsraeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin presented this menorah to President Gerald R. Ford during Rabin’s state visit on June 11-13, 1975. A menorah is a nine-branched candelabrum lit during the Jewish holiday Hanukkah. This menorah features a set of clay oil lamps which date back to the Iron Age. Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to him and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
