Physical DescriptionA silver-toned coin depicting three generals above a Victory V, entwined with a banner reading "United We Stand." The V is flanked by the crests of the United States and Poland. Encircling these images are the words "1776/ For your freedom and ours/ 1976, " followed by the same in Polish. The reverse depicts a map of the United states with the Polish crest in the upper right of the map. Text encircling the map reads "Bicentennial Committee/ Polish American Congress." Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to Ford and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
