Physical DescriptionA blue and red metal bell hangs from a silver chain. Golden stars border the white cardboard that it is packaged in. The top of the package displays horizontal blue text and an image of the pendant.Historical NoteThe item was sent by a member of the general public to President Gerald R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford in January 1976 on the occasion of America's Bicentennial. The pendant on the necklace was the official Philadelphia Bicentennial symbol.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
