Physical DescriptionA blue and gold license plate displays an American flag and two lines of white text outlined in red.Historical NoteMrs. Oscar Haessler gifted this item to President Ford in 1974. Although the victory license plate is from World War II, the donor noted that “HELP WIN” could stand for “Hope Everyone Lowers Prices" and "Whip Inflation Now”, the name of Ford's campaign designed to combat high inflation.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential
Library and Museum.
