Physical Description(a) A gold pendant of an African mask hangs from a long gold chain.

(b) A gold bangle with decorative curved shapes on the sides features a gold African mask in the center.

(c) A rectangular wooden box has a checkered pattern on the lid and is cushioned with maroon fabric on the interior.
Historical NoteVictoria Tolbert, wife of Liberian President William R. Tolbert, Jr., gifted this necklace and bangle to First Lady Betty Ford in 1976.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford administration. It was personally presented to her and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
