Physical DescriptionA gold nugget features a raised image of an eagle, which is enclosed by a round arrangement of rubies, diamonds, and sapphires. A gold sculpture of an eagle with outstretched wings is positioned behind it; both are attached to a round wooden base.Historical NoteJeweler Randy Disselkoen presented President Ford with this sculpture, which he created in honor of his service to America, at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum's dedication ceremony on September 18, 1981. The post attached to the eagle represents a goalpost, a visual reference to the President's time spent playing football for the University of Michigan. Additional Details
