A gold border encircles the plate's rim.Historical NoteThe item was gifted by a member of the general public to President Gerald R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford in May 1976. It was transmitted by Nancy Schieuter on a trip from Florida to New Jersey. The item was then sent to First Lady Betty Ford om June 23, 1976. The plate displays a copy of "Washington Crossing the Delaware" by Emanuel Leutze in the center.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
