Physical DescriptionA white plate features an image of a woman and a young girl sewing an American flag. They are sitting on wooden chairs in the center of a round rug. Curvy blue text and golden stars encircle the woman. A golden border decorates the plate's rim.
Historical NoteOn July 9, 1976 Norma and Joseph Gulick presented this plate to Deputy Special Assistant Milton E. Mitler on the White House's North Lawn; he accepted the gift on the Fords' behalf.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to Ford and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
