Historical NoteThe United German Societies presented this plate to First Lady Betty Ford during a visit to Oktoberfest in Milwaukee, WI on September 26, 1976. The item was then transferred to the White House Gift Unit on October 5, 1976.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was presented to her and maintained through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
