Physical Description(a) A pewter plate features a raised image of a battle scene bordered by a round decorative design, which consists of state seals. A curved banner with incised letters is positioned behind the seals.

(b) A red, white, and blue box is lined with blue velvet.
Historical NoteThe plate commemorates the "Stand at Concord Bridge" where the "shot heard round the world," took place and the beginning of the American War for Independence.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
