Physical Description(a) A gold metal key features a painted crest enclosed in a white circle in the center of its head. The head is made up of curved shapes decorated with raised scrollwork. A raised blue letter M is painted on a rectangular shape which protrudes from the end of the key.Overall (b) (box) H 6 in x W 12 in x D 1 1/2 in (15.2 cm x 30.5 cm x 3.8 cm )
(b) A rectangular white cardboard box has pieces of paper with typed text adhered to the interior of the lid, and it is cushioned with green material on the bottom portion.
Historical NoteImelda Marcos, First Lady of the Philippines, gifted this key to the city of Manila to President Gerald R. Ford during his state visit in December 1975.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Gerald R. Ford during the Ford administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
