Physical Description(a) A shield-shaped gold textured medal features a raised image of two lions supporting a structure as they stand on their hind legs. It is attached to a vertical piece of metal that hangs from a vertically striped blue and white ribbon.

(c) A small round blue and white pin

(d) A rectangular blue box is lined with white fabric on the interior of the lid and is cushioned with blue fabric on the bottom portion.
Historical NoteMayor Augusto Luceno of Recife, Brazil, gifted this medal to President Ford.Additional Details

Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
