Historical NoteMayor Hans Breitenbach of Linz, Austria, gifted this engraving to President Gerald R. Ford in July, 1975. During their visit, the President and Mrs. Ford joined Breitenbach and other dignitaries in Linz for a dinner cruise on the Rhine River.Additional Details

Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to him and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
