Physical DescriptionA round medallion features an image of a tall narrow structure in front of buildings and raised curved text. Multiple raised round borders outline the perimeter. It hangs from a long silver chain.Historical NoteMrs. Aang Kunaefi, wife of the governor of Bandung, Indonesia, gifted this keychain to First Lady Betty Ford during her visit to Indonesia in December, 1975. It is inscribed with Susan Ford’s name on one side, and “Taman Mini ‘Indonesia Indah’” on the other. This translates to “Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park,” a cultural park located in Jakarta. The park was created by Indonesian First Lady Tien Suharto and features Indonesian culture and heritage, including buildings, dances, and traditional clothing.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was presented to her and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
