Physical DescriptionA tea set consists of a pot, sugar bowl, and 12 identical cups with saucers. All pieces are white with gold details and blue, pink, and purple floral designs.
Historical NoteRomanian President Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena Ceausescu gifted this tea service to President and Mrs. Ford during their state visit to Romania in August 1975. The Fords’ visit to Romania was part of the diplomatic trip surrounding President Ford’s participation in the Conference for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Helsinki, Finland.Additional Details

Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to him and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
