Three additional round borders decorate the remaining portion of the plate.Historical NoteCnel Juan J. Molina, Senior Intendente Municipal of San Jose, Uruguay, gifted this plate to President Ford on December 4, 1975. The plate features the San Jose de Mayo coat of arms, which includes the Uruguayan flag, a red diagonal stripe, sabers, laurel branches and a rising sun.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
