Physical Description(a) A round green medal features a gold symbol in the center surrounded by curved gold text. Gold designs border the symbol around the perimeter.

(b) A square blue box is lined with white fabric on the interior of the lid and is cushioned with blue fabric on the bottom portion.
Historical NoteRyokichi Minobe, Governor of Tokyo, Japan, gifted this medal to President Gerald R. Ford during his state visit to Japan in November 1974.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ford and First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford administration. It was personally presented to them and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in September, 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
