It is displayed in a wooden frame with decorative raised details in each corner.Historical NoteDistinguished Grand Rapids, Michigan, artist Mathias Alten created this oil painting on canvas, entitled "Portrait of Percy L. Churm, 1935." "Pop" Churm taught Gerald R. Ford history at South High School and also coached his track and junior varsity football team. The 1935 graduating class from South High commissioned this painting as a gift to "Pop" Churm. Ford and "Pop" Churm continued to be close acquaintances througout Ford's years in office.Additional Details
