Physical DescriptionA white square scarf has a large geometric, orange, green, yellow, and navy blue design printed on it. The edges are decorated with a navy blue border.
Historical NoteMary Wilson, wife of British Prime Minister Harold Wilson, gifted this scarf to First Lady Betty Ford. President and Mrs. Ford hosted a state dinner for the Wilsons on January 30, 1975. The scarf was made by British fashion desinger Norman Hartnell.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
