Physical DescriptionA white quilt features a colorful symmetrical design; multicolor fabric pieces arranged in triangles border a diamond in the center. A square black border encloses the whole design.Historical NoteLouise McClure, wife of Idaho Senator Jim McClure, and the Senate Wives Club, handmade by the Banida Ward Relief Society of the LDS, presented this quilt to First Lady Betty Ford at a luncheon in April 1976. The quilt was handmade by members of the Banida Ward Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Banida, Idaho.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
