Physical DescriptionA wooden pipe holder shaped like an anchor has two semicircular depressions carved in the stock and in the arm. A brass ring is attached to the top of the head.Historical NoteSoviet leader Leonid Brezhnev gifted this pipe holder, as well as several pipes, to President Gerald Ford during the President's Vladivostok trip on November 23-24, 1974. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Gerald R. Ford during the Ford Administration. It was personally presented to him and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
