A symmetrical green and red debossed design is near the bottom edge of the cover.Historical NoteRomanian President Nicolae Ceausescu gifted this record album of Romanian folk music to President Ford in 1975. Before arriving in Helsinki, Finland, for the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, the President and Mrs. Ford visited West Germany, Poland, Romania, and Yugoslavia. The countries visited were specifically chosen for their positions within the sphere of Cold War tensions.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ford and First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was personally presented to them and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
