Physical DescriptionWooden plaque with hand painted image. Top of plaque features number "1776" in gold, half covered by an eagle in the foreground. Eagle has wings spread, and head turned to proper right side. Eagle holds a striped red white and blue banner in its talons, along with a scroll featuring blue, black and red text. Blue stripes on the banner feature white stars, and white sections of banner feature small back text. Black text present on reverse side of plaque.Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
