Ford on April 28, 2001. In 1941, Ford was the assistant football coach at the University of Grand Rapids, the sister school of Davenport University. Several played Ford coached joined in the presentation ceremony, including Gene Tiejema, Paul Partanen, Dallas Braden, Jack Barrows, Norm Glasser, George Kobryn, and Art Holland.
