Physical DescriptionA white vase has a long neck, wide shoulder, and a round base. Pink, red, and blue flowers on a vine sprout from a pot and create a circular design on the front of the vase. Small single pink, red, and blue flowers are painted on various areas of the surface. A thin gold band encircles the rim along with a pattern that alternates between flowers and bows.Historical NoteDeputy Prime Minister Gyula Szeker of Hungary gifted this vase to President Ford. It was made by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. Specializing in hand-painted porcelain, the factory was founded in 1826.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
