It stands on a red, white, and blue shield as it grasps arrows in its talons. Lines of horizontal red text are above and below it.Historical NoteBob and Dorothy Hobbs of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, gifted this plaque to the President and Mrs. Ford in 1975. The inscription on the plaque, "est. Oct. 15, 1948 / The Ford House," refers to the Fords' wedding date.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
