Physical DescriptionA badge-shaped wooden plaque features three recessed images: a horned man with a snake wrapped around his neck enclosed in a red circle, a green man enclosed in a white shield shape, and a man falling through the sky enclosed in a black circle. Below the images, a recessed white rectangle displays rows of horizontal black text.Historical NoteThis plaque belonged to Air Force Staff Sergeant Martin Jablonski, who served as Flight Mechanic on “Jolly 42,” one of the helicopters involved in the rescue operation on Koh Tang Island following the capture of the SS Mayaguez. He received the Distinguish Flying Cross for “courageous action aided in the recovery of the SS Mayaguez and its crew.”Additional Details
