It stands with its feet spread apart.Historical NoteThis object is one of two woodcock sculptures gifted to President and Mrs. Ford by King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sophia of Spain. The Fords displayed it in their residence in Rancho Mirage, California, until Betty Ford's death in 2011.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford administration. It was presented to them, and Betty Ford's estate gifted it to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum in 2011.
