Historical NoteKatsuyo Aono of Tokyo, Japan, gifted this Kokeshi doll to President Ford in January 1976. Kokeshi dolls are notable for their large heads and bodies which feature floral designs.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President, and First Lady Betty Ford donated it to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum in 2008.
