Physical DescriptionA doll with an elderly appearance wears a navy blue velvet dress under a white lace apron. A red jacket with puffy sleeves and a hood covers the top portion of the dress. Two pins protrude from a red, white, and blue doile that the doll holds in her hands.Historical NoteMrs. Carol H. Marino of Burlington, New Jersey donated the doll, named "Grandma Liberty," on February 18, 1976. She sent the doll to Betty Ford as a Bicentennial gift.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President, and Betty Ford donated it to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum in 2008.
