Physical DescriptionRed, white, and, blue pins, beads, sequins, and patches embellish a Styrofoam ball. A heart-shaped patch designed to resemble an American flag is attached to the front. Golden trim, sequins, and red and gold beads accent its perimeter. A gold-toned pedestal supports the decoration.Historical NoteA member of the general public gifted this item to President Gerald R. Ford on December 22, 1975. The ornament was made by artist Florence Hord, who was known for creating Christmas ornaments that were collected all over the world.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President. First Lady Betty Ford donated it to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum in 2008.
