Physical DescriptionA quilt is made of thirty squares,which feature hand drawn motifs associated with American history. Red fabric separates each image and borders the quilts' edges.
Historical NotePresident Gerald R. Ford's staff accepted this quilt on Betty Ford's behalf when members of Girl Scout Troop #2019 presented it at the White House on July 1, 1976.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during her husband's term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
