Physical DescriptionA round bronze textured incense burner has three triangular holes in the center. A raised image of a crane with outstretched wings is enclosed in a circle bordered by the holes.
Historical NoteThis object is one of two incense burners gifted to President Ford by South Korean violinist Kyung Wha Chung. The incense burner features an image of a crane, which in Korean culture symbolizes longevity and constancy.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
