Physical DescriptionSpherical purple carved stones accented by transparent beads decorate a bronze chain. A large purple stone is suspended by several vertically-positioned links in the center of the chain.
Historical NoteMrs. José Pérez Caldas , wife of Uruguay Ambassador José Pérez Caldas, gifted this necklace to First Lady Betty Ford in 1975.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
