Historical NoteZulifkar Ali Bhutto, Prime Minister of Pakistan, gifted this chess set to President Gerald Ford on February 5, 1975. That evening, Bhutto attended a state dinner in his honor.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
