Physical Description(a-d) A pewter ewer has a narrow neck, a spherical body, and a round foot. A short spout protrudes from its left side, and it is topped with a lid. An Indonesian coat of arms with an image of a lit structure bordered by greenery is etched on the center.
Historical NoteAli Sadikin, Governor of Jakarta, Indonesia, gifted this ewer to President and Mrs. Ford on December 6, 1975, during their visit to Indonesia.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
