Physical DescriptionA soup tureen depicts an image of the White House inside an oval against a navy blue background, and it is accented by gold scrollwork and cornucopias. The edges of the tureen are decorated with vertical red and white stripes, and three-dimensional white and gold leaves protrude from each corner. The lid and handle are decorated to match the other motifs. It is supported by a square wooden base, which features a rectangular metal plaque on the front.Overall (b) H 9 in x W 12 in x D 8 1/2 in (22.9 cm x 30.5 cm x 21.6 cm )

Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to him and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
