Physical DescriptionA rectangular rug features symmetrical designs. A blue rectangle in the center encloses yellow and orange organic shapes and four figures. It is surrounded by a thick yellow border decorated with brown, white, and green shapes. A thin brown border outlines the whole rug.Historical NoteFinnish President Urho Kekkonen gifted this Ryijy rug to President Ford. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ford during the Ford Administration. It was personally presented to him and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
