Physical DescriptionA colorful petit point evening bag features an image of four figures in a boat approaching a tree with two figures in it. There are other trees and a building in the background. Bright bunches of symmetrical flowers border the scene. A long gold chain is attached to silver and gold hinges, which enclose the top of the purse.
Historical NoteDr. and Mrs. Bruno Kreisky, Federal Chancellor of Austria, gifted this purse to First Lady Betty Ford on November 12, 1974, during Kreisky's trip to the White House.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to First Lady Betty Ford during the Ford Administration. It was presented to her and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
