Physical Description(a-c) A vertical tan folder features two sets of four stamps. One set features the American and Republic of China flags against a blue background, and the other features the American and Republic of China flags against a yellow background. A postmarked envelope is positioned below the stamp sets. On the other side of the folder there is an ivory piece of paper with vertical black Chinese characters on the top half and horizontal black English text on the bottom half.Historical NoteAmbassador James C.H. Shen of Taiwan gifted this stamp book to President Gerald Ford in honor of the American Bicentennial in 1976.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
