Physical DescriptionA golden falcon with a throat and head encrusted in diamonds is perched on a tree attached to a dark green base. Light green shapes decorate the surface of the base. A single gold feather is affixed to it. Green leaves and a small ruby are attached to the tree.Historical NoteQuaboos bin Said al Said, Sultan of Oman, gifted this falcon to President Gerald Ford on January 13, 1975 during a state visit to the United States.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Gerald R. Ford during the Ford administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
