Physical Description(a, b) A shotgun with a wooden stock has gold detailing on the receiver and a long black barrel.

(c) A rectangular brown presentation box is lined with white plush fabric on the interior of the lid, and it contains a green tray.
Historical NoteThe Museum of Arms of Liege, Belgium, gifted this hand-made hunting shotgun to President Ford in commemoration of the 1976 Bicentennial. Lucie De Myttenaere, the Counselor for Cultural Affairs at the Beligan Embassy, presented the shotgun to Milton Mitler, White House Coordinator of Bicentennial Matters. The shotgun was then displayed in exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, titled "Gun-making and American History."Additional Details
Custodial History NoteA foreign official gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was presented to a member of the White House staff on his behalf and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
