Physical DescriptionThree rectangular identical stamps feature an image of six women in colorful robes kneeling against a blue background; the main figure in the foreground has her back turned to the viewer. There is horizontal white text across the top and vertical blue text along the right side.Historical NoteOn November 27, 1975, Vatican City issued a series of two stamps to celebrate International Women's Year. The stamps reproduce figures of women taken from a work by Giovanni of Fiesole, known as "Fra Angelico." This work hangs in the Chapel of Nicholas V in the Vatican Museum.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe general public gifted the item to President Gerald R. Ford during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in September 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
