Physical DescriptionPorcelain figures of men in colorful clothing are seated around a long rectangular table, which has a variety of objects on it. An American flag attached to a pole is positioned between two of the figures.Historical NotePrinciple officers of the Sons of the American Revolution National Society personally presented this figurine to President Gerald R. Ford on January 24, 1975 in the Oval Office. The officers also presented him with his certificate of membership to the society. Gerald Ford’s mother, Dorothy Ayer Gardner, was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ford during his term in office. It was presented to Ford and was maintained at the Executive Office of the President until its transfer to the National Archives in 1981 for deposit with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
