Ford at 50: Decisions that Defined A Presidency

This original temporary exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of Gerald R. Ford's historic presidency. Using an array of materials from the Museum’s collection, including presidential artifacts, archival documents, and historic film footage, the exhibit introduces visitors to some of the most difficult and controversial decisions that President Ford made in office. These decisions include granting clemency to draft dodgers, pardoing Richard Nixon, welcoming Vietnamese refugees to the U.S., rescuing the SS MAYAGUEZ crew, participating in the Helsinki Accords, and refusing to bail out New York City.
